Book: Mycological Flora of Japan
Around the year 1941, Seiya Ito became involved in microbiological research. Mycological Flora of Japan is a comprehensive survey of his work in this area. It represents the first attempt by a Japanese researcher to systematise fungi. Ito kept large collections of fungi and wrote that it would not be possible to present an exhaustive mycology even if he worked on it for his entire life. Nevertheless, over a period of 28 years, Ito compiled three volumes and seven copies. This copy was given by Ito to Misao Tatewaki.
