Ohara (1999)

Remarks. Mazur (1994) discussed the biogeography of far eastern species of the genus, and noted that O. ostreatus and O. flavicornis had expanded their distributional range from Japan to Taiwan, through the Ryûkyû Archipelago (Loo choo Archip.). There species, however, absent in the archipelago. On the other hand, O. ostreatus is distributed in continental China. These species seem to have expanded their ranges independently to Japan and Taiwan, directly from the continental China.
